Gawain, smug in his own strength, turned his blade on someone who should not have been challenged.
A curse was cast on him, and in order to break free from the curse, he embarked on a quest good deeds, but without goodwill.
He is far from understanding the meaning of his lesson, and so it seems the day his curse will be broken seems far off.
